ABOUT INC
The central theme of the Program Project carried out by the International Neuroimaging Consortium (INC), and based at the University of Minnesota, is modeling and visualization of spatial and temporal patterns of functional activation in the living human brain. The program consists of two neuroinformatics components: Consensus Patterns in Functional Neuroimaging and Computational Anatomy and Visualization, a brain/behavioral component: Temporal Resolution of fMRI and two Cores: Administration and Neuroinformatics.
The Human Brain Project supports neuroinformatics research and development of cutting-edge computer-based tools and approaches to acquire, store, manipulate, analyze, integrate, synthesize, disseminate and utilize information about the brain and behavior. Key personnel supported by the Human Brain Project include informaticians, computer scientists, and scientists in related fields, as well as neuroscientists and behavioral scientists. NIMH is the lead organization of this initiative, which is sponsored by 15 Federal organizations, including 12 Institutes and Centers of the NIH, the National Science Foundation, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the Department of Energy. Representatives from all of these organizations comprise the Federal Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Human Brain Project. INC as a program project is supported by the National Institute of Biomedical Imagingand Bioengineering (NIBIB).
